Which one applies depends on the university. The CSS Profile is College Board's form, filled in at cssprofile.collegeboard.org and sent automatically to the universities selected. The ISFAA (International Student Financial Aid Application) is an institutional form and differs from university to university. The CSS Profile opened on 1 October 2026 for autumn 2027 entry. It costs $25 for the first university and $16 for each additional one; international students get no automatic fee waiver, though some universities grant one on request.
Many universities use IDOC, College Board's Institutional Documentation Service, to collect supporting documents including financial ones. Instructions on what to upload arrive after the CSS Profile is submitted. Not every university uses it; some take documents directly.
